History[edit | edit source]

Early History[edit | edit source]

The people of Gaya trace their leaders back to six eggs that descended from heaven with a message that they would be kings. Six boys were born, and within 12 days they grew mature. 5 of the eggs became the kings of Asadal.Gaya’s egg hatched into King Dae Won-ui, who ruled bravely and peacefully for 2000 years. King Dae Won-ui formed the capital city of Gayasi with the help of his 12 captains. They began to trade and have close relations with the Kingdom of Gyerim. This caused King Dae Won-ui's other brother King Yu of Sipjae, to become jealous. King Yu brought his army into Gayasi under the claim of a peaceful trade caravan. When he reached the town he killed his brother Dae Won-ui and started the Time of Trouble.

Mid History[edit | edit source]

To end the Time of Trouble Gildong the Brave tricked the god Habaek, into giving up the secret of the god's immortality. This changes from story to story but most believe that he had to trap the gods using beautiful women. Habaek and the other gods had to make themselves mortal to create their demi-god offspring and Gildong used that time to imprison the gods within magical vessals. He traded the gods one at a time to gain magical powers which he taught to the people of Gaya. Gaya then used these powers to defeat the neighbouring kingdoms of Sipjae and Gyerim.

Mid-Late History[edit | edit source]

After this Gaya kingdom conquered the Island kingdom of Tamna. This was difficult due to the Island's god Koenegitto and his magic bronze gong which, when struck once, could conjure up an army of a million soldiers out of the air. Koenegitto also made magical weapons for the Islanders to use in order to defend themselves. The king of Gaya made an uneasy truce with the pirates of the 8 islands of many gods to make a pincer attack on Tamna. During this attack they captured the bronze gong and melted it down into a crown for their King. Granting him divine right over the remainder of Koenegitto's army.

Modern History[edit | edit source]

For the last 60 years the country has had an armistice with the Jolbon Kingdom. They are also facing massive plagues and food shortages.
